Assuming ‘popular’ was the default filter (which shows a bunch of harmless mainstream communities), which sort would give the best impression to new people?
Hi y’all. I signed up recently and still getting acquainted with the interface. Is there any way to change/collapse the posts? I’m not sure I want this “feed” style of browsing. Something like old Reddit would be great. Thanks!
New to PieFed here. From my understanding: topics are a collection of communities, allowing you to see all their posts in one feed, right? In my instance, I can’t create a topic, only if I’m already in one? It feels a little confusing. Any advice?
I came across !gaming@piefed.social recently and found there is no way to make posts in the community. I tried contacting the mod a couple of weeks ago but they seem to be out?
I am scheduling posts that include an image from my phone. Some are scheduled for a week or more away. Do I have to keep the image on my phone until after it goes live, or are the images immediately uploaded to the server when I schedule it? Basically, if I delete the image from my phone before the scheduled time, will the image be there or will it be the error box?
Someone just called me a “hardcore conservative” in an era where that’s basically code for “hardcore climate change denialist” and I had to get a notification for it and see it in my inbox but not be able to reply?
I recently did a bit of digging and found that the most-blocked accounts are those that do big floods of posts, some only seconds apart. One possible way to deal with this could be to rate-limit the posts by turning posts into unpublished scheduled posts when they start posting too fast. The scheduled posts would eventually be published, but in the future at a sensible speed. But when should the rate limit kick in?
https://piped.video automatically linked to my music post (started c/ListenParty a bit earlier) - what is it? It’s not loading, as far as I can tell. https://piefed.social/c/listenparty/p/1462454/who-is-william-onyeabor
